About Em
I grew up in the outback, out the “back ‘o Bourke”, three hours from the nearest town centre. Growing up in the outback taught us to make our own fun as the nearest neighbour was literally miles away!
I was surrounded by inspirational women who did the work of men, had limited social outings and reared children amidst the hardships of drought, isolation and the lack of female company. These women have always inspired me; beneath the dust and toil was always a feminine girl!
Over the last 20 years, I have dabbled in painting on and off and attended specialised art courses and classes whilst trying to be the best mum I could be to my two gorgeous babies. Fast forward and those two little ones have grown up and flown the coop!
So! I decided to get back into painting. With the help of my own gorgeous girl I began to create fun works of art and entered into the world of social media and the rest just evolved! There was lots of interest from clients wanting to purchase prints so that came later.
Something my 20 year old son mentioned also resonated with me. Coming to the end of his gap year in far northern QLD on a remote cattle station, I asked him what was the most important thing he learnt during the year? He paused and replied, “mum, it was how to back myself.” Wise words for me at an opportune time, I listened and just went for it!
I hope you enjoy my girls as much as I do!
